WHO WE ARE
At the Writers' Table you'll find JIM STAAHL & JIM FISHER, a professional writing team with over 25 years of experience in Hollywood. You can check out their extensive credits on IMDB. Here's a brief bio. “The Jims” as they are known collectively in the biz, parlayed their comedy improvising skills learned at the famous Second City theater in Chicago into a writing career that includes movies ("The Beverly Hillbillies"/“Here Come The Munsters") and television ("Sledge Hammer"/“SCTV") as well as animation (creating "Bobby's World"/Toonsylvania”). Among those they have worked with and/or created projects for are “the Steves” – Steve Allen, Steve Martin and Steven Spielberg – as well as Dana Carvey, Rodney Dangerfield, Louie Anderson, Howie Mandel, Dietrich Bader and Mike Myers.
Both Jims have been active at the Second City Training Center in Los Angeles. Jim Fisher taught Sketch Comedy writing and as the first Director of the Second City Writers Conservatory developed a SitCom writing program. Jim Staahl also teaches comedy writing at the Second City Training Center. In addition he teaches classes in half-hour TV comedy at USC. He also teaches screenwriting classes at UCLA, through the Extension program.
